Even though the tweets have stopped apparently SNL is still getting under Donald Trump's skin. Good to know.

Courtesy of WaPo:

Staffers buzz privately about who is up and who is down, with many eagerly gossiping about which poor colleague gets an unflattering portrayal on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live.” For the past two weeks, it has been White House press secretary Sean Spicer. But aides said Trump was especially upset by a sketch that cast White House chief strategist Stephen K. Bannon as the Grim Reaper manipulating the president — who was ultimately relegated to a miniature desk, playing dolefully with an expandable toy.

Well good for SNL. They are doing an amazing job of rattling Trump's cage.

However in Bannon's case they may actually be underselling the evil.

Take a look at this profile from Vox:

Bannon, it should be noted, fits the stereotype of the sinister political adviser to a T —and even seems to revel in it. “Darkness is good,” he told Wolff. “Dick Cheney. Darth Vader. Satan. That's power.” Note that Bannon said this after the election and his appointment to a top White House job. (These comments are why Saturday Night Live portrayed him as the Grim Reaper in its recent skit.)

But as chief strategist, Bannon is more than just a political adviser. He’s taken on a major role in policy and is, by most accounts, the leading force in crafting the Trump administration’s agenda — especially the series of White House–issued executive orders with which Trump began his presidency. “Mr. Bannon has rushed into the vacuum, telling allies that he and Mr. Miller have a brief window in which to push through their vision of Mr. Trump’s economic nationalism,” the New York Times’s Glenn Thrush and Maggie Haberman report.

Yeah like I said, that Grim Reaper parody may be a little too deferential.

The guy is in fact far more terrifying than simple death. He embodies the kind of chaos and nationalism that destroys nations.

Thank goodness for comic relief. It's the only way to get through this and by gosh Trump sure provides plenty of it.

There was also a story out a while ago about DR flying in from Switzerland and stopping in NC the day Trump had a rally there. Maybe it was a normal layover as DR made his way to the FLA home he bought from Trump in, I think, 2004, but maybe it meant something more.

    3. Anonymous10:45 AM

DR attended trumps first major forign policy speech last April, which was unprecedented enough but after the speech he stated he hoped for better relations between the US and Russia and blamed the US for the contentious relations at the time.

I worry more about Israel and it's influence over Trump.

Bibi and other war hawks in Israel have wanted the United States to invade Iran and destroy Iran's army.

Bannon would be 100% behind this invasion.

Trump Rages Against ‘Low-Life Leakers’... REPORT: Bannon Pal To ‘Review’ Intel Agencies... Spies ‘Withholding’ Information From Trump — Fear It Could Be ‘Leaked Or Compromised’...

Donald Trump Just Launched A War On Whistleblowers

The president is suggesting a major purge is in the offing.

President Donald Trump is launching a war on leakers, attempting to turn a story about the firing of his national security adviser, Michael Flynn, into a campaign to purge and clean out intelligence agencies.

The latest salvo came Thursday in classic Trumpian fashion: early-morning tweets attacking a national newspaper and making vague threats.

...The attack-the-leaker mood already has support on Capitol Hill among Trump allies. On Wednesday evening, House Oversight Committee Chair Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) formally requested an investigation into whether classified information was leaked to the press in the process of exposing Flynn’s conversations.

In a letter to the inspector general of the Department of Justice, co-signed by House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.), Chaffetz noted that many of the reports surrounding Flynn referred to phone surveillance operations and direct communications over sensitive material between the Department of Justice and the White House.

“It seems probable that the fact that an intelligence agency monitored the call, if it did, as well as any recording of the call, would be classified,” the letter reads. “We have serious concerns about the potential inadequate protection of classified information here.”

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) has also put less emphasis on looking into the substance of Flynn’s calls than on investigating why those calls made it into press reports. Combined, his and Chaffetz’s pursuits have Democrats howling that congressional oversight is being dropped in favor of political protection for the White House.

“Chairman Chaffetz appears to be taking his marching orders directly from President Trump’s tweet yesterday,” Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), the ranking member of the House Oversight Committee, said Thursday. “Instead of investigating General Flynn’s lies and his troubling ties with Russia, he chose to target those who brought them to light. Congress should be doing independent oversight of the Executive Branch and protecting whistleblowers, not running interference while the White House conceals their abuses and misleads the American people for weeks.”

--Threats and hostility abound as a renewed rampage against "leaks" forms. Meanwhile, POTUS bragging once again about stock market.

--"The stock market loves me. It'll keep going up and up because Wall Street loves me. But watch, it's going to go down again "because of all these leaks. It scares people. When it goes down again blame the leakers. It would be black Friday right now if not for me."

    Fucking delusional!

Pulitzer Winner Eviscerates Trump: ‘Who The Hell Do You Think You Are?’

“Maybe you didn’t notice, but this is the United States of America.”

What you do ‘will not be questioned?’ Lord, have mercy. That’s the kind of statement that, in another time and place, would have been greeted with an out-thrust palm and a hearty “Sieg heil!” Here in this time and place, however, it demands a different response:

Just who the hell do you think you are?

Meaning you and all the other trolls you have brought clambering up from under their bridges. Maybe you didn’t notice, but this is the United States of America. Perhaps you’ve heard of it? Nation of laws, not of individuals? First Amendment? Freedom of the press? Any of that ringing a bell?

Pitts, who won the 2004 Pulitzer Prize for commentary, is the author of a syndicated column and several books. Just before the inauguration, Pitts wrote that he “refused to accept” Trump as “the new normal.”

A Twitter user told Pitts his latest column was “spot on” and “harsh.” Pitts replied:

    The Russian Connection:
If you find the recent talk about Trump's Russian Sanctions to be confusing, here's an opportunity to become familiar with some of the elements and events which underpin what is happening.
ExxonMobil, under Rex Tillerson, brokered a deal with Russia in 2013 to lease over 60 million acres of Russian land, with the rights to pump oil out of them (an area which is five times larger than the land that they lease in this country); but all of that Russian oil would have to go through pipelines in the Ukraine (who heavily tax the proceeds), and Ukraine was applying for admission into NATO at the time.
Putin subsequently invaded Ukraine in 2014, secured the routes to export the oil (conveniently tax-free by sea), and took control of the port where their Black Sea Naval Fleet is based by wresting the Crimean Peninsula from Ukraine, with extreme force.
These actions were unanimously recognized as Hitler-style Imperialism which broke every international law in the free world.
After President Obama sanctioned Russia for the invasion, ExxonMobil could only pump oil from approximately three of those 60+ million acres.
But Rex Tillerson is soon to be our Secretary of State; and, as of today, there’s information circulating that Donald Trump will likely unilaterally remove all sanctions against Russia in the upcoming days or weeks.
The Russian government’s oil company, Rosneft, will make half-a-trillion (500 Billion) dollars from such a quantity of untapped oil, all of which will be pumped, tax-free, through Crimea (remember: Stolen from Ukraine, and now owned by Russia).
Putin may have subverted our government solely for this deal to go-through.
Feel free to Fact-Check all details. There's plenty of oily dirt and black stains to be found; but these events are verifiable, and the projections as to their significance to the Trump/Putin Connection are evident, and will be clearly exposed through a thorough and proper investigative process.

"the point. It’s hard for Trump to find many friends."< added the 'M'by mistake?" It’s a test to see whether the “Silent Majority” he boasted during the campaign can give him the energy he needs to govern as a successful president. Time and again during the presidential campaign, returning to his crowds helped Trump get on track. This weekend, he’ll try to figure out whether those campaign tactics can work when they’re made permanent."

A month into presidency, Trump prepares for a campaign rally
By JULIE BYKOWICZ - The Associated Press

WASHINGTON (AP) President Donald Trump is holding a campaign rally Saturday in politically strategic Florida 1,354 days before Election Day 2020.....

.... The White House and Trump's campaign aren't answering questions about why the political event is taking place or who's paying for it.
