Some Liberty University graduates returning their diplomas because of their school's support for the Nazi sympathizer in the White House.

White House Nazi with Liberty University president Jerry Falwell Jr..
Courtesy of NPR:

A group of alumni from one of the country's most influential evangelical Christian universities is condemning their school's president for his continued alignment with President Trump.

A small but growing number of Liberty University graduates are preparing to return diplomas to their school. The graduates are protesting university President Jerry Falwell Jr.'s ongoing support for Trump. They began organizing after Trump's divisive remarks about the deadly white supremacist protests in Charlottesville, Va.

Chris Gaumer, a former Student Government Association president and 2006 graduate, said it was a simple decision.

"I'm sending my diploma back because the president of the United States is defending Nazis and white supremacists," Gaumer said. "And in defending the president's comments, Jerry Falwell Jr. is making himself and, it seems to me, the university he represents, complicit."

I believe this marks the first time that I have EVER supported a decision made by a graduate of Liberty University, EVER.

BTW this was Falwell's tweet after Trump made those disastrous comments concerning there being "fine people on both sides" of those protests in Charlottesville.
Perhaps now is a good time to remember that Falwell Sr. founded the Moral Majority to fight against desegregation, not to fight abortion as is it is often remembered today.

    TRUMP WHAT HAPPENED TO

Trump: I don't give a specific plan because I don't want enemies to know it

    $$$$$$$$$$

President Trump will address the nation on Monday night in a prime-time address on his plans for Afghanistan and South Asia, the White House announced Sunday.

Trump will address the nation "on the path forward for America's engagement in Afghanistan and South Asia," the White House said in a statement.

I already know that I will always be busy when trump talks . Besides who wants to hear lies and a self important buffoon spew stupidity and hateful rhetoric?
      I suppose idiots and racists.

  2. Well, good for them.

In the interests of full disclosure, Mr. B is a bigshot at a highly regarded DC-area executive search firm. Even those placement professionals who do not share Mr. B's (and my) progressive political views consider a Liberty diploma--undergrad, grad, or law school--a major liability.

    Also a snickering point. :-0

    3. One of my daughter's friends is planning to attend LU and she is trying so hard to talk her out of it but her family is not going to budge - they are drunk on the Kool Aid. I wish DD's friend all the luck, since she has NOT even tasted it. She will be miserable there, and it will be a huge regret.

Anonymous senior officials in the White House blatantly contradicted themselves about Donald Trump's behavior, and are attempting to cover up their cowardice by acting as saviors and martyrs instead.

...“They also know they are one step away from an even bigger job in government, so it’s hard to just walk away.”

Yes, it is indeed very hard to “just walk away” from defending the country and the world from a petulant, bigoted, reckless egomaniac with his finger half an inch from the button at all times, when sticking around might mean snagging a nice corner office.

    Trump's willing supremacists

...But before rushing to credit these and other Donald Trump allies for standing up to the real racist-in-chief, bear in mind that this is a textbook case of too little, too late. Laudable though these statements are, talk is cheap. After all, in recent years each of the five Republicans listed above had ample opportunities to denounce right-wing terrorism, reject casual race-baiting, and eject white supremacists from the ranks of their party. Yet it was no accident that they were silent and seated when it mattered most. That’s because for more than 50 years, the GOP has relied on its “Southern Strategy” combining incendiary racial rhetoric, zealous xenophobia, and even Confederate idolatry to manufacture a terrified and furious white majority, and not just in the Solid South. Until today’s “concerned” Republicans cast out Donald Trump and cast off the politics of white resentment, they should get no credit where none is due.

When it comes to the scourge of White Supremacy, Donald Trump has been mistakenly labeled as an enabler. Donald Trump is not just that. He is an inciter, an igniter, a provocateur of intolerance and racial hate.

...Trump’s refusal to chastise and condemn White Nationalists, who descended upon Charlottesville to protest the removal of a monument to slavery, was distasteful and decidedly unpresidential. His decision not to call the mayor of Charlottesville was bereft of thought. Trump’s failure to mention the death of Heather Heyer, initially, or reach out to her family, was a callous and further revelation of a man with a broken moral compass. Ultimately, his resounding defense of White Nationalists was the proverbial final nail in the coffin of Americans, who will undoubtedly lose their very lives, in defense of racial equality.

The fact is that Donald Trump rode a wave of White Supremacy to the highest office on the planet. His candidacy was endorsed and emulated by members of the far right. His presence on the national political stage emboldened racists to emerge from behind their masks and shrouds of secrecy to stand in the light, unafraid of repudiation. He encouraged violence at his rallies and even promised to pay legal fees of perpetrators of violent acts. He owns this movement of White Supremacy, and sadly Heather Heyer is only the first victim.

Is the Trump administration hiring people of color to hold signs at his Phoenix rally?

...“Crisis actor” is a term used by right-wing conspiracy followers to denote actors hired as part of a “false flag” terrorist operation, in which the government purportedly hires people to pretend their children have died in a disaster or terrorist attack that didn’t happen.

Barack Obama is the exact moral opposite of Donald Trump

...Now let’s directly juxtapose what these two presidents have done. When Obama acknowledged white resentment, he did so in order to defuse and counter it, to reduce racial hatred overall, and to move our country in a more positive direction toward solving the racial inequalities and injustices that continue to plague America. Trump, on the other hand, sought to feed and exacerbate white resentment. He amplified it, parroted its rhetoric, and made clear that he shared it.

In Philadelphia, Barack Obama spread love and truth. After Charlottesville, Donald Trump spread hate and lies. It’s as simple as that.

A Few Comments on Hating the Hateful

...Donald Trump, who looks like a stack of traffic cones topped with baboon's ballsack, has been justifiably excoriated for his seeming refusal for two days to condemn the white nationalists responsible for the violence and murder in Charlottesville. His initial statement wasn't just milquetoast both-sides-ism. No, it was an implicit wink to the racist thugs who took it as such. His pissy statement today, where he finally called out "the KKK, neo-Nazis, white supremacists and other hate groups," was presented with all the enthusiasm of a man in a bathroom stall asking for toilet paper.

But his delay empowered these assholes, this savage collection of bearded rednecks in torn rebel flag t-shirts, batshit militia dickheads toting assault weapons, golf-shirted and pampered little boys, and pathetic suit-wearing Nazi wannabes who Hitler would have laughed at as he had them executed for being too fucking dumb to know how to wrap a gas-covered cloth around a stick to make a torch. Most of them would have shit themselves and run for their mothers if they had been actual Nazis or actual Confederate soldiers, facing the American war machine that tore the hell out of both those armies of losers.

Chuck Todd Exposes Republican Cowardice As Every GOP Leader Refuses To Go On TV To Defend Trump

Todd said, “To give you a sense of how reluctant Republicans are to talk about President Trump this week, not one member of the current Republican leadership in Congress agreed to come on the broadcast this morning. In fact, even the White House was unable, or perhaps unwilling, to provide a guest, right down to the White House press secretary.”

From Paul Ryan’s wishy-washy tweets to Mitch McConnell’s refusal to condemn Trump by name, the Republican Party has been anything but a profile in courage after their president spent most of the week defending racists and white supremacists.

Meet The Press is an institution, so Congressional leadership and the White House turning down an appearance on the show suggests that the Republican Party is in hiding. They can’t defend Trump. They don’t want to defend Trump. Privately, they might even admit that Trump is toxic and they don’t want to go anywhere near him. Trump has not made any friends in Congress. Republicans in the House and Senate would throw him under the bus in a second to save themselves.

McConnell, at least, should show some backbone, because he's one of the most likely to be affected by racism. Look at who his wife is. We've all heard the terms for Asians.

And Lindsey Graham. He's a target in this environment.

Why anyone in our nation would want to be affiliated with anything connected to Donald Trump is beyond me.

He does not represent the majority of Americans in his position, which is a total joke! He's not smart enough, rational enough or mentally capable of handling the job. I worry for our country unless he is impeached sooner than later by the Republican majority Congress! Many of them will never hold office again when they come up for reelection if they should have the balls to do so!

Trump latest effort to distract America from his scandals is a nationally televised address to the troops about the war in Afghanistan.

...Let’s be honest about what this speech really is about. Donald Trump is the using his role as commander in chief to try to change the subject from the Russia scandal and his support of racists to the war in Afghanistan.

Sec. of Defense James Mattis tried to sell Trump’s speech as a decision that he made after a review of the Afghan war strategy, “I am very comfortable that the strategic process was sufficiently rigorous and did not go in with a pre-set position. The president has made a decision. As he said, he wants to be the one to announce it to the American people.”

No one believes for a second that a president with the attention span of a drunk hamster did a serious review of the war and the options for US policy in Afghanistan. Trump didn’t review the policy options by studying them. He had somebody tell him his options, and he picked them in between tweets.
